  36. Let's not loose sight that NASA is _more_ than just space.  There is the full
  37. line of Aeronautics and basic research that occurs.  I don't think that many
  38. private industries would be willing to share their research work as much as
  39. NASA has.  Yes, I agree that NASA is a bureaucracy; but it doesn't have to be
  40. that way if the American PUBLIC says so.  Don't forget that *WE* are the 
  41. bosses of those on Capitol hill who control the purse strings.  A National
  42. space policy and the appropriate programs to achieve that are necessary as
  43. well as basic research.
